About Jim Davidson
Jim Davidson, President and Founder of Car$mart, has always been wildly passionate about cars… so it’s not difficult to see why he turned his passion into a thriving business. His love affair with automobiles started early – he would happily spend hours playing with his toy cars. Jim’s obsession started with his dad, who was also a car buff, bringing home the latest and great models for his son to explore and appreciate.
Jim’s auto education progressed in high school, as he spent his summers working at various car dealerships. He also ran a car raffle fundraiser for Big Brothers, selling tickets to win a Porsche. For a high school student, Jim had it made – he had an awesome job, he was helping a worthwhile charity and driving a Porsche all summer long. Yep, you can say that he was the envy of his school friends.
After completing university, Jim spent two years working at a Toronto dealership. This is where he got first-hand experience seeing how much car buyers hated the entire process. After interviewing several clients and commiserating about their war stories battling with car salespeople, Jim came up with Car$mart, a business that could offer a first-class car-shopping service.
Car$mart launched in 1993, started hiring employees in 1995, franchised the business from coast-to-coast in 1997… and he hasn’t looked back. Jim and Car$mart boast continuous growth every year, and he’s looking forward to providing his customers with many more years of exceptional car-shopping services.
Hi
Just to confirm…your fee is $500, correct?
Do you take a percentage of the sale of my used car as another fee?
Currently I have a 2007 Mazda 5. How do you determine a fair market value for my car and how do you sell it?
Ie trade in with purchase of my next car, ad, auction???
I think I am looking for a mid sized suv ie Honda cry or Toy rav. I have often heard that it is best to buy a three year old car that has depreciated. Would you agree?
If I wanted to buy a used car do you actually inspect it or do you have others do that part of the job for you?
Would you get an extended warranty on a three year old used car?
Thanks. Don Cooper
